About
Noam Kubeisi (b. 2000) is a figurative painter working in Israel and Spain, and a graduate of the Barcelona Academy of Art.
Her works are created in oil, charcoal, and pastel, often combining mixed media on canvas.
In her practice, Kubeisi explores the tension between body and spirit, between religion and desire, and between the personal and the universal. Memories of her traditional–religious childhood home serve as a source of inspiration, revealing in her paintings a dialogue between worlds — between nudity and sanctity, between academic precision and spontaneous, improvised drawing. Her own figure frequently appears in the work, alongside other beings that echo acts of creation and imagination.
