ABOUT
Noam Kubeisi (b. 2000) is a figurative painter based between Tel Aviv and Barcelona. She is a graduate of “Barcelona Academy of Art”, where she studied academic drawing and sculpture, developing a strong technical foundation alongside an independent, intuitive approach to painting.
Working primarily with oil, charcoal, and pastel, often in mixed media on canvas, Kubeisi’s practice focuses on process rather than resolution. Her work examines questions of identity, memory, and perception through repetition, observation, and the use of symbolic imagery. Personal experience serves as a point of departure, but the paintings aim to move beyond autobiography toward a broader, collective reading.
Kubeisi frequently works from her own figure, not as a fixed subject but as a flexible tool for exploration. Elements drawn from nature and imagined environments appear throughout her work, functioning as carriers of emotional and psychological states. The tension between discipline and improvisation, control and release, remains central to her practice.
